FAA Finds No Safety Concern in Boeing 737 MAX Software Bug
A software issue in Boeing's 737 MAX flight computers has been found to not pose a safety concern by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after an investigation.
The glitch, which affects the automated navigation feature of the aircraft, can cause it to fail when planes shift their approach to landing. However, according to the FAA, pilots retain full control of the aircraft and receive clear indications in case of this issue.
Boeing will send a bulletin to airlines detailing the issue and instructing employees on how to respond if it occurs. The aerospace giant is also working with airlines to formalize a procedure that would allow pilots to restore automated flight guidance in case of the glitch.
