The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has certified Boeing's 737 MAX-7 model after a nearly decade-long review. This certification comes on the heels of extensive scrutiny following fatal crashes involving the larger MAX 8 variant and stricter safety standards imposed by the FAA.

The FAA's evaluation included assessments of the MAX-7's flight controls, flightcrew alerting, and system safety. According to the statement, this review was partially lengthened due to these factors.

This development follows a 10-year review process that has finally greenlit the airplane for commercial use.
