FAA Gives Boeing Green Light for More 777F Sales Past Emissions Rule Deadline

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted Boeing an exemption to sell up to 35 additional 777F freighters past January 2028, when new emissions rules take effect.

The waiver will allow Boeing to sell the planes for three more years as it works towards entry into service of the 777-8 Freighter in 2029.

Boeing welcomed the FAA's decision, citing strong customer demand and a need to bridge the period before the new plane enters service. 'We welcome the FAA's decision, which will support cargo carriers as they serve growing demand for air freight with the most efficient large freighter in service today,' a Boeing spokesperson said.
