FAA Grounds Boeing 737 MAX 10 Over Critical Software Flaw
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has delayed certification of Boeing's new 737 MAX 10 aircraft due to a software fault in its landing guidance system.
The issue, which affects newer versions of the flight management computer software, can cause pilots to lose automated vertical flight guidance during specific missed-approach situations.
Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg had previously stated that certification was coming 'very soon', but FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford confirmed on September 28 that the agency would not move forward until the software issue was properly addressed.
