FAA Grounds Boeing's MAX 10 Over Software Glitch
Boeing's long-awaited 737 MAX 10 has hit another roadblock due to a software fault in its landing software. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has delayed certification after discovering a problem that could affect how the plane handles certain landing situations.
The FAA has not given Boeing a new target date for approving the largest member of the 737 MAX family, leaving airlines and industry watchers waiting for a clearer timeline on when the aircraft can finally enter service.
The delay comes after expectations that the MAX 10 could receive certification as early as this week. The smaller 737 MAX 7 was certified by the FAA on August 3, while Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said in September that certification of the MAX 10 was 'coming very soon.'
