FAA to Review Boeing 737 MAX Software Issue on Friday
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is set to convene a safety review on Friday of a software issue affecting Boeing's 737 MAX airplanes. According to sources, the problem could prevent pilots from accessing automated flight guidance during one landing scenario.
Airline officials have reportedly told Reuters that they do not believe the FAA's Corrective Action Review Board will determine the issue poses a safety concern. The board is scheduled to meet on Friday to review the matter.
The FAA had delayed certification of the 737 MAX 10 until it completed its analysis, and airline officials said they expect the plane to be certified later this month if the board clears it.
