Fable Falls Out of Favor with Nvidia and Palantir Over Data Concerns

Nvidia and Palantir are restricting Anthropic's Fable over data retention concerns. Nvidia, an investor in Anthropic, has barred its employees from using Fable for sensitive workloads, such as supply chain monitoring, opting instead for its own Nemotron models.

Booz Allen Hamilton has also restricted the use of Fable, citing concerns that it might learn from proprietary code. Novo Nordisk and Northrop Grumman have long-standing controls around proprietary information.

Anthropic introduced a data retention policy in June, giving itself the right to retain customer usage logs for up to two years if its safety systems flag them. This change led to resistance from enterprise customers, with Microsoft restricting employee access to Fable and Nvidia drawing similar lines.
