Faded Serial Numbers Spark Controversy in Nvidia Warranty Rejections

Nvidia has rejected an RMA request for an RTX 5090 Founders Edition due to a faded serial number, sparking controversy among owners.

A Reddit user reported that they had sent their card in for replacement after experiencing black-screen crashes. However, Nvidia retained the card for over a month before returning it, citing the unreadable serial number as the reason for rejection.

The owner stated that the GPU had not been altered and provided original packaging and purchase records, but Nvidia still declined the replacement.

Other RTX 5090 owners have reported similar fading on their cards' serial numbers, with some suggesting that heat exposure or normal handling may be contributing factors.
