Faithful Pastor Bill Herndon Leaves Lasting Legacy
William 'Bill' Herndon, a devoted husband, brother, uncle, pastor, and friend, passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 78. Born in Newnan, GA, on November 3, 1947, Bill was the son of Ralph and Chloea Herndon. He spent most of his life working various careers, including a stint with The Sherwin-Williams Company, Clayton County Police Department, and the United States Navy.
Bill's true calling was as a pastor, which he pursued with dedication and passion. Between 2002 and 2005, he served as pastor at New Antioch Christian Church. He also held roles at several Presbyterian churches, including Porterdale Presbyterian Church, Bethany Presbyterian Church, Hemphill Presbyterian Church, and Faith Presbyterian Church.
Throughout his life, Bill was known for his love of reading, learning, and helping others. He had a special affinity for children and animals, often going out of his way to assist those in need. Bill is survived by his wife, Ann Johnson Herndon, sister Susan Love, and numerous other relatives and friends.
