FDA Suspends Licenses for Seven Mumbai Food Establishments Over Safety Concerns
The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cracked down on food establishments in Mumbai, suspending licenses or registrations of seven outlets over serious safety violations.
This is part of a larger two-day drive across Maharashtra, where the FDA inspected 89 hotels, restaurants, and dhabas, issued 71 improvement notices, and suspended 13 food licenses.
The action is a result of serious deficiencies found during inspections, including pest infestation, poor temperature control, cross-contamination risks, and repeated failure to rectify earlier deficiencies.
McDonald's India released a statement saying they take pride in maintaining high food safety standards and follow rigorous quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
