FedEx Panda Express Soars Across Asia to Atlanta
FedEx transported two giant pandas, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang, from Chengdu to Atlanta on September 27, 2026. The Boeing 777F freighter, branded the 'FedEx Panda Express', flew nonstop for approximately 15 hours and 55 minutes, covering around 6,900 nautical miles.
The pandas were the only cargo on board, traveling in custom-built crates with their keepers from Zoo Atlanta. FedEx donated the full transport cost and trucked the animals from the airport to the zoo.
This move marks the 23rd time FedEx has transported giant pandas between China and the US since 2000. The company's Chief Operating Officer, Richard W. Smith, stated that 'every time the FedEx Panda Express is called into service, our entire team feels the significance of the mission.'
