FedEx Pays Tribute to Founder with Heritage-Liveried Boeing 777F

FedEx has unveiled a Boeing 777F painted in heritage livery to commemorate its founder Frederick W. Smith, who passed away in June 2025 at age 80. The aircraft, named 'Rosie' after one of Smith's granddaughters, features a retro design inspired by the original livery of Federal Express's first Dassault Falcon 20 business jets.

The Boeing 777F, registered N884FD, is part of FedEx's modern fleet and represents the backbone of its international operations. The aircraft made the first ceremonial landing at the newly renamed Frederick W. Smith International Airport, formerly Memphis International Airport.

The airport renaming honors Smith, who built FedEx from a small Arkansas startup into a logistics giant that reshaped global commerce. The company employs tens of thousands of workers in the region and operates one of the busiest cargo airports on the planet.
