FedEx Unveils Heritage Livery Boeing 777F, Renames Memphis Airport After Founder

FedEx has unveiled a Boeing 777F painted in its heritage livery to commemorate the renaming of Memphis International Airport as Frederick W. Smith International Airport, honoring the company's late founder.

The aircraft features a largely white fuselage with purple and orange cheatlines, modeled on the original livery of Dassault Falcon 20 business jets that launched Federal Express' first flights from Memphis in 1973.

The Boeing 777F, registered N884FD and nicknamed 'Rosie', made its first ceremonial landing at the newly renamed airport as Flight 1944, a number chosen to honor Smith's birth year. FedEx chose the widebody jet because it represents the modern backbone of its international operations.
