Festival and GO Day Bring Community Fun to Peoria Riverfront
The Big Picture Peoria Street Festival and GO Day brought a fun-filled day to the Peoria Riverfront on Sunday, September 13. The event was perfectly timed with beautiful weather, making it an ideal setting for free family activities.
The festival featured bouncy houses, face painting, food trucks, a fashion show, and live performances throughout the day. One of the main attractions was the Dragon Boat Racing competition, where over 10 teams from various regions, including China, participated in an attempt to beat the current on the Illinois River.
Laura Cullinan, an Advisor for Greater Peoria Leaders, expressed her joy at seeing families and children from all over enjoying themselves. She noted that free admission to the Peoria Riverfront Museum and Caterpillar Visitor Center was a way to engage the community in downtown activities.
