Figure Skating Coach and Mother Patricia 'Pat' LaBissoniere Passes Away at 80

Patricia 'Pat' Hoberg LaBissoniere, an 80-year-old woman from Granby, Connecticut, passed away on September 18, 2026. Her family remembered her as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, coach, and friend.

Pat was particularly passionate about figure skating, competing as a teenager and later teaching generations of skaters. She directed the Town of Simsbury's Learn to Skate program for over 40 years and coached at the International Skating Center of Connecticut well into her 70s.

Before retiring in 2018, Pat worked for various organizations, including Caterpillar Inc., Stanadyne Corp., and the Simsbury Public Works Department. She also worked for two governors: Ella T. Grasso and William O'Neill.
