FIP Demands Comprehensive Probe into Boeing 787 Technical Systems
The Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP) has called for a thorough investigation into the technical aspects of the Boeing 787 aircraft involved in the Air India AI-171 crash in Ahmedabad.
In a letter dated September 18, the FIP sought a comprehensive and independent examination of the aircraft's electrical, electronic, avionics, and integrated systems as part of the ongoing investigation.
The crash occurred on June 2025, killing 260 people. The pilots' federation argued that every technical aspect of the aircraft should be examined using evidence-based methods.
The FIP specifically requested scrutiny of the aircraft's electrical generation and distribution systems, main and standby power systems, integrated modular avionics, flight-management systems, flight-control computers, data networks, batteries, sensors, and monitoring systems.
