FIP Seeks Thorough Evaluation of Boeing 787 Electrical System Evidence
The Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP) has urged the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) to conduct a thorough evaluation of the Boeing 787 electrical system evidence in connection with the Air India AI-171 crash.
The FIP, in a letter dated September 18, emphasized the importance of examining all available evidence related to the operational history and technical condition of the aircraft.
The Boeing 787 is one of the most electrically dependent commercial aircraft ever produced, with numerous systems powered by electrical means instead of traditional pneumatic or hydraulic ones.
The FIP highlighted the need for a comprehensive examination of electrical generation, distribution, monitoring, flight-control, avionics, data-network, and aircraft management systems to ensure safe operation.
