Fitbit Air Arrives in India at Hefty Price Tag

Google has launched its screen-free Fitbit Air fitness tracker in India, priced at 13,999 rupees, or about $146. This is significantly higher than its US price of $99, which may affect its reception in the Indian market.

The Fitbit Air tracks various health metrics such as heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and sleep duration without displaying any screens or notifications. It competes with other screen-free trackers from Whoop, Oura, Garmin, Luffu Link, Noise, and Urban, which offer lower prices in India.

India accounts for 5% of the global market for screen-free wearables, according to Counterpoint Research. As traditional fitness bands decline in shipments, a distinct niche is emerging for these trackers.
