Fitbit Air Lands in India with Premium Price Tag
Google has launched the Fitbit Air fitness tracker in India at a price of 13,999 rupees, which is approximately $47 higher than its US counterpart costing $99. The device was unveiled in May and tracks various health metrics such as heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep stages, and duration.
The Fitbit Air has no screen, but it still manages to offer a range of features including tracking heart rhythm, sending notifications about atrial fibrillation, and measuring resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and sleep quality.
According to TechCrunch, the popularity of screenless health devices is growing, with companies like Whoop, Oura, Garmin, Luffu Link (founded by Fitbit's founders), Noise, and Urban offering similar products at competitive prices.
The device will be available for purchase from October 2 in the Google Store and partner retail chains Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales. Additionally, Google is offering a free three-month premium membership to Google Health with the purchase of Fitbit Air.
