Fitbit Edge Puts Google on the Fitness Tracker Map
Google is preparing to launch its latest wearable device, the Fitbit Edge. This new fitness tracker boasts a screen, GPS, and altimeter for precise elevation tracking. The Fitbit Edge offers up to 7 days of battery life and will come in colors matching Google's Pixel 11 Pro lineup.
The device appears to be positioned as a middle ground between the budget-friendly Fitbit Air and the feature-packed Google Pixel Watch 5. While it lacks some of the advanced features of the Pixel Watch, the Fitbit Edge offers more functionality than the Fitbit Air. It supports notifications and has access to limited apps like Google Maps and YouTube Music.
The price point for the Fitbit Edge is expected to fall between $149 and $199, although this is not confirmed by Google. As with previous Fitbit Charge models, the launch date is anticipated to be this month.
