Five Points Washington seeks $3 million for community facility upgrades
Five Points Washington has initiated a $3 million capital campaign to enhance its aquatics facilities, performing arts center, and community spaces. The organization has already secured over $1.8 million during the initial phase and is now seeking public contributions. The campaign, titled “Reimagine the Future of Our Community,” aims to improve accessibility, safety, and functionality across the facility.
Planned upgrades include renovations to the aquatics center and community areas, as well as enhancements to lighting, sound, rigging, and flooring systems at the Caterpillar Performing Arts Center. Executive Director Vikki Poorman emphasized that the campaign is about investing in people, stating, “Every improvement will help us continue creating opportunities for people to move, learn, connect, celebrate and belong.”
The community center, which opened in 2007, attracts approximately 600,000 visits annually. The campaign coincides with Five Points approaching its 20th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to serve the community.
