FlightFX Brings Real-World Simplicity to Microsoft Flight Simulator with Hawker 800XP
The Hawker 800XP business jet has been released in Microsoft Flight Simulator as part of the 'Exclusive Series', developed by FlightFX. In an interview, Nick Sdoucos from The FlightFX team discussed the development process and features of the aircraft.
The Hawker 800XP was chosen for its significant real-world footprint and historical importance in business aviation. According to Sdoucos, it represents a different era where pilots had to actively engage with systems, rather than relying on automation. This aspect aligns with Microsoft Flight Simulator's focus on the joy of flight.
The team aimed to capture the Hawker's experience in real-world scenarios and translate it into MSFS 2024 as faithfully as possible. The aircraft features a complex hydraulic, fuel, electrical, and pneumatic system, as well as advanced avionics. FlightFX's Inertial Immersion System has been refined for the Hawker, providing an immersive experience.
One of the key features is VAMS, the electronic flight bag, which now includes monitoring applications and system synoptics. Players can see systems operating in real-time, adding an educational aspect to the gameplay. Easter eggs include a realistic refuelling experience and fun details like ice protection system animations.
