Floating Search Icon Coming to Google Messages

Google Messages is getting a new feature that makes it easier to search within chats. Currently, users have to tap the three-dot menu icon inside a thread to access the search option. However, with this upcoming update, Google Messages will display a floating search icon at the top of the screen when a user scrolls up in a chat.

The floating search icon is likely inspired by a similar feature that recently started rolling out in WhatsApp. When users tap on it, they'll be able to quickly open the search interface and find specific messages or media files. This update seems to be working smoothly already, so it's possible that we won't have to wait long for Google to start rolling it out.
