Florida Man Guilty in Microsoft Manager's Execution-Style Murder

Mario Fernandez Saldana has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Jared Bridegan, a Microsoft manager. The verdict was delivered at the Duval County Courthouse in Jacksonville, Florida, on August 26, 2026. Fernandez Saldana, 38, is accused of orchestrating the murder and helping to procure the gun used.

Bridegan was killed in February 2022 while returning home from dropping off his twins at his ex-wife's house. He was shot execution-style after getting out of his vehicle to move a tire that was in the road. His two-year-old daughter was in her car seat at the time of the shooting.

Fernandez Saldana is married to Bridegan's ex-wife, Shanna Gardner, and was accused by prosecutors of being the 'architect' of the fatal shooting. He allegedly solicited his former tenant, Henry Tenon, to commit the crime and provided him with at least $10,000 afterward.

Fernandez Saldana pleaded not guilty and did not testify in his own defense. The state has decided against seeking the death penalty, so he will receive a mandatory life sentence instead of facing capital punishment.
