Florida Trial Hears Allegations of Ambush Murder by Ex-In-Laws

A trial is underway in Florida for the fatal shooting of Jared Bridegan, a Microsoft design manager. The prosecution claims that the murder was a 'targeted ambush' orchestrated by his ex-wife and her husband.

The incident occurred on February 16, 2022, when Bridegan, 33, stopped to remove a tire that had been placed in the road while driving with his 2-year-old daughter from a second marriage. The child was strapped into her car seat at the time of the shooting.

The prosecution alleges that Bridegan's ex-wife and her husband were motivated by years of post-marriage strife over religion and parenting methods, which had become increasingly contentious.
