Flow Gets Predictable Transitions and 4K Export

Google's AI video tool Flow has been updated with new features that make it more suitable for professional use. The update, available worldwide on August 27, 2026, includes three key changes: keyframe control for start and end frames, 4K export, and more affordable test renders in 360p.

The Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash model is the technology behind these new features. This faster version of Google's multimodal Omni model can understand longer video segments simultaneously and maintain movement, lighting, and perspective more consistently across multiple frames than the previous version.

With keyframe control, users can specify an exact start frame and end frame for a clip, allowing for more predictable transitions between scenes. The 4K export feature enables finished clips to be exported directly in 1080p or 4K, making Flow suitable for broadcast and professional social media workflows that require fixed resolution specifications.

The update is available to paying Flow subscribers on the Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra tiers. Developers can also access the features via Google AI Studio and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. The new creative tools can be found directly at labs.google/fx/tools/flow.
