flydubai, a Dubai-based airline, has expanded its cargo operations by launching dedicated freighter services. This move aims to support regional trade expansion and reinforce Dubai's position as a global logistics hub.

The airline will operate three Boeing 737-800 freighter aircraft from October 1, 2026, under a wet-lease agreement with SolitAir. These aircraft will be based at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) and complement flydubai's existing belly-hold cargo capabilities.

The dedicated freighter fleet introduces specialized handling for high-demand sectors, including pharmaceuticals, perishables, live animals, dangerous goods, and aerospace components. The operation targets regional markets with initial flights focused on high-demand sectors.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, said: 'Dubai has established itself as one of the world's most connected hubs for E-commerce, trade, and logistics.' He added that the airline is committed to supporting Dubai's vision through enhanced trade connectivity and logistics capabilities.
