flydubai Eyes Fleet Expansion Beyond 100 Aircraft

flydubai, a Dubai-based airline, has announced plans to expand its fleet beyond 100 aircraft. The airline will take delivery of 11 additional Boeing 737 MAX planes in 2026, including seven Boeing 737-9 MAX and four Boeing 737-8 MAX.

The deliveries are part of flydubai's fleet-modernization plan, which aims to replace older aircraft with newer, more fuel-efficient models. The introduction of these new aircraft will provide greater flexibility for the airline to grow its network and increase capacity on high-demand routes.

flydubai's Boeing 737-9 MAX planes will feature 16 Business Class seats and 156 Economy Class seats, while the 737-8 MAX planes will have 10 Business Class seats. The additional premium capacity is expected to support demand for Business Class on key international routes.

In addition to fleet expansion, flydubai will begin a cabin retrofit program in September. Over the next 12 months, 21 aircraft currently fitted with recliner Business Class seats will be upgraded with lie-flat Business Class seats and Boeing Space Bins, increasing cabin baggage capacity.
