flydubai Surpasses 100-Aircraft Fleet Milestone with New Plane Deliveries
flydubai has reached an impressive milestone by expanding its fleet beyond 100 aircraft. To achieve this, the airline will take delivery of 11 new planes in 2026, including seven Boeing 737-9 MAX and four Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft.
The deliveries are part of flydubai's fleet modernization strategy, which involves replacing older planes with newer ones to increase capacity on specific routes. The newer aircraft will also enhance fuel efficiency and improve onboard service.
flydubai's Chief Executive Officer, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said the fleet expansion will provide additional capacity and flexibility as the airline develops its operations.
In addition to the new aircraft deliveries, flydubai will begin a cabin retrofit programme in September 2026. Over the next 12 months, 21 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft currently fitted with recliner Business Class seats will be upgraded with flydubai's lie-flat Business Class seats. The programme will also replace existing overhead bins with Boeing Space Bins, increasing cabin baggage capacity.
