Foley Equipment launches first Cat Compact store in Wichita

Foley Equipment, a Caterpillar dealer with 21 locations across Kansas and Missouri, has opened its first Cat Compact store. The new facility, connected to the company’s Wichita, Kansas branch, launched on September 21. The store aims to serve small and growing businesses by offering an expanded selection of compact equipment, along with parts, service, and rental options.

Klancy Foote, vice president of construction sales for Foley Equipment, emphasized the store’s role in better serving smaller customers. “Cat Compact gives us additional tools to build on how we serve small and growing businesses,” Foote said. “We know that many of our smaller customers have distinct needs, and adding Cat Compact to Wichita allows us to meet those needs better.”

The Cat Compact store model was first introduced at ConExpo 2026 and is designed to provide a streamlined experience for small businesses. The format combines digital research with in-person expertise, all under one roof. Caterpillar describes the model as an expansion of its presence in the compact equipment market.

The launch of the Cat Compact store coincided with Caterpillar’s entry into other compact machine segments. During ConExpo, the company unveiled the TUL100 compact utility loader and the 301 CR mini excavator, marking its smallest-ever excavator.
