Ford and JPMorgan Chase Launch Michigan LIFT to Strengthen US Supply Chains
The launch of Michigan LIFT aims to strengthen US supply chains by connecting suppliers, innovators, and manufacturers. This public-private initiative is led by Ford Motor Company, JPMorganChase, the State of Michigan, Michigan Central, and Newlab.
Michigan LIFT will address challenges in manufacturing and supply chain operations, turning them into 'Open Calls' for solutions. Once a solution is found to be widely adoptable, Michigan LIFT will connect customer demand, financing, public resources, workforce support, and commercialization services.
The platform's founders are working together to meet expectations, with Ford aiming to award up to $1 billion in business to innovative suppliers, JPMorganChase providing up to $1 billion in debt capital, and the State of Michigan using its economic development tools to support innovation-driven companies.
