Ford Revives Indy for Disney Ride, Marvel Comics Series
Harrison Ford is reprising his iconic role as Indiana Jones in a new ride at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom theme park. The beloved archaeologist will be featured in an animatronic form, with Ford himself serving as the model for the character.
The ride, called 'Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent', takes place in the 1950s and allows riders to join Dr. Jones on an adventure through an ancient underground cave. The journey leads directly to the Maya Underworld, where they must navigate perilous dangers such as monstrous bats, scorpions, fire, and snakes.
The ride's creators worked closely with archaeologists, anthropologists, and Maya experts to ensure historical accuracy. The news comes on the heels of Marvel's announcement of a five-issue comic book series, 'Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium', which follows Professor Jones and Marion Ravenwood as they race the Nazis to an ancient artifact.
