Former IBM Executive Joins Algorhythm Board as Independent Director
Algorhythm Holdings (NASDAQ: RIME) has appointed Greg Smith, a former IBM executive with over 30 years of experience, as its newest independent board director. Smith spent his entire career at IBM, where he managed multi-country organizations and oversaw an annual budget of $2 billion in his later years.
Andrew Thompson, CEO of Algorhythm, expressed enthusiasm about Smith's addition to the board. Thompson believes Smith will help establish accountability and foster a results-driven culture across the company's portfolio. Additionally, Smith's expertise in business process management and his understanding of the AI data center boom are expected to support Algorhythm's efforts to supply renewable biomass power plant solutions to U.S. data center infrastructure sites.
Smith's career at IBM was marked by progressive managerial roles and recognition for his management acumen. He received various IBM awards, including a Global Supply Chain Leadership Award, and holds certifications in project management. Smith earned a BS in Aeronautics and an MBA from San Jose State University.
Algorhythm Holdings is a diversified company with two primary assets: Azure Holdings, a developer of renewable biomass power generation infrastructure, and SemiCab Holdings, an AI-enabled logistics software provider. Azure has already secured equity participation in multiple power plants and is generating positive EBITDA. SemiCab's AI platform helps optimize supply-chain logistics for major retailers and transportation providers.
