Foxconn Sets Revenue Records on AI and Consumer Tech Demand
Foxconn reported record September revenue of $36.5 billion, driven by strong demand for AI products and consumer electronics. The company's Cloud and Networking Products business saw significant growth, benefiting from a "strong pull-in momentum for AI products." September's revenue marked a 25.7% increase from August and a 38.4% rise year over year, surpassing the previous monthly record set in July.
Foxconn's third-quarter revenue reached $95.3 billion, up 20.4% sequentially and 47.1% year over year. The company expects AI-related operations to continue growing in the fourth quarter, alongside the traditional peak season for ICT products. However, Foxconn cautioned about risks from a volatile global political and economic environment.
As a major Apple manufacturing partner and a key builder of Nvidia-based AI infrastructure, Foxconn's performance offers insights into the demand for AI and consumer electronics. Nvidia's AI infrastructure requires more complex systems, and Foxconn manufactures and integrates systems built around Nvidia’s accelerated-computing platforms.
Despite the positive revenue figures, NVDA stock edged up 0.4%, while retail sentiment on Stocktwits shifted to 'bearish.' Apple's consumer-electronics business saw strong month-over-month growth in September, attributed to a new product launch, but remained flat year over year. AAPL stock dipped 0.2% in pre-market trade, with retail sentiment also trending 'bearish.'
