From YouTube Music to AntennaPod: A Podcast Listeners' Redemption Story

Avid podcast listener Marvin used to rely on Google Podcasts but after it shut down in 2024, he switched to YouTube Music. However, he found its limitations frustrating and eventually ditched it for an open-source app called AntennaPod.

The problem with YouTube Music is that it prioritizes music over podcasts, making simple functions feel complicated. Marvin had to navigate through multiple menus just to access his podcast library and even then, the app would frequently fail to refresh his podcast feeds.

With AntennaPod, Marvin found a dedicated podcast app that was easy to use and free from distractions. The app allowed him to customize his home page and prioritize his queued episodes, new episodes, and downloaded episodes.

One of the standout features of AntennaPod is its ability to remember playback progress, even when switching between online streaming and downloaded episodes. This feature alone made a huge difference for Marvin, who no longer had to restart entire episodes from scratch.
