FTAI Aviation Lands 27 Boeing Aircraft in Multi-Million Dollar Deal

FTAI Aviation Ltd., trading on NASDAQ under the ticker FTAI, is down by over 3% after announcing its largest aircraft deal to date. The company has acquired 27 Boeing Co's (NYSE:BA) 737-700 aircraft from WestJet through a sale-leaseback arrangement.

The transaction involves two separate agreements. Firstly, FTAI's 2026 SPV purchased 17 Boeing 737-700 aircraft leased to WestJet as part of the sale-leaseback deal. Secondly, the company acquired 10 off-lease Boeing 737-700 aircraft for its Aerospace Products business.

FTAI's strategy focuses on acquiring mid-life narrowbody aircraft while combining its aircraft ownership platform with engine maintenance capabilities. This latest transaction reinforces this approach and expands FTAI's supply of CFM56-7B engines and modules for customers of its Maintenance, Repair and Exchange business.
