Futures Climb as Markets Prepare for Key Earnings Week Amid US-Iran Talks
US stock futures climbed higher overnight as markets prepare for another key earnings week. The Dow and S&P 500 futures rose by 0.45% and 0.50%, respectively, while Nasdaq futures gained 0.77%. The gains come ahead of a busy week of earnings reports from top US companies.
Among the companies set to report this week are Palantir Technologies, Advanced Micro Devices, McDonald's, and Costco. Yardeni Research notes that 71% of S&P 500 companies have already reported Q2 results, with another 15% expected this week.
The US-Iran conflict appears to be on pause after President Donald Trump said a new round of talks would begin Monday. Oil prices declined following the news, with Brent crude futures down nearly 5% and WTI crude futures trading at $80.52 per barrel.
