Galanz Retro Refrigerators Recalled Due to Electrical Fire Hazards

A Galanz Retro Refrigerator sold at Home Depot and Amazon has been recalled after an electrical fire caused one death. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall report on July 30, citing reports of 34 fires involving the refrigerators.

The affected units were manufactured by Zhongshan Galanz in China and imported by Home Depot and Galanz Americas. Approximately 121,680 refrigerators are included in the recall, which covers models with date codes ranging from December 2018 to December 2020.

The recalled refrigerators have a model number of BCD-215V-62H, GLR76TRDER, GLR76TBKER, GLR76TBEER, or GLR76TWEER. Consumers are advised to unplug and stop using the refrigerators immediately until they can be repaired free of charge.
