Gaza Destruction Exposed in Satellite Images: Angelina Jolie Calls for Urgent Humanitarian Aid
Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has posted updated satellite images of Gaza on Instagram, calling attention to the scale of destruction in the territory. She shared the imagery available through Google Earth and pointed out that entire neighborhoods had been destroyed, with homes, schools, universities, hospitals, roads, water and sanitation systems, and other infrastructure damaged or destroyed.
Jolie cited UN satellite analysis saying that as of June 16, 2026, 82% of Gaza's structures had been damaged, with about two-thirds of the damaged buildings assessed as destroyed. She added that 1.98 million people, or 94% of Gaza's population, require shelter assistance and essential items as winter approaches.
The actress called for humanitarian aid and shelter materials to reach civilians before winter, arguing that the scale of required assistance is substantial. She also emphasized the need for medical supplies to be delivered to hospitals and conditions created for civilians to rebuild their homes, schools, hospitals, and communities.
