GBT Predicts Modest Hotel Rate Gains Globally in 2027

Hotel rates are projected to rise in most global markets next year, according to American Express Global Business Travel's (Amex GBT) Hotel Monitor. The largest increases will be seen in Latin America and parts of Europe.

In North America, the two cities with the highest forecasted rate increases are Mexico City at 4.7 percent to 7.1 percent and San Francisco at 3.6 percent to 5.4 percent.

Europe is expected to see 'solid' rate increases, led by Madrid at 6.1 percent to 9.2 percent, followed by Edinburgh at 6.2 percent to 7.1 percent.

The Middle East conflict and commodity price volatility are cited as the main drivers of uncertainty in the forecast, with Amex GBT advising clients to use the lower end of the range if inflation rises above 4.7 percent.
