GE Aerospace Assures No Delay to 777X Certification Despite GE9X Redesign
GE Aerospace has assured investors that the redesigned GE9X engine seal will not delay the planned entry into service of Boeing's 777X aircraft.
The company stated this in response to concerns about the impact of the redesign on the 777X schedule, which is currently set for certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The redesigned GE9X engine seal was shipped to Boeing in the third quarter, and the FAA certification process is expected to be completed within a few months.
GE Aerospace's Chief Financial Officer Rahul Ghai made this announcement on September 17, 2026. The company has also disclosed an agreement to acquire Consolidated Precision Products for $11.75 billion, subject to closing adjustments and regulatory approvals.
