General Electric Co. is stepping up efforts to boost engine deliveries for Boeing Co.'s 787 Dreamliner, as the aircraft manufacturer aims to increase production of its widely used widebody jet. In an interview on Tuesday, GE CEO Larry Culp acknowledged that more work is needed to support Boeing's plans to raise build rates.
GE delivered over 50 GEnX engines for the 787 in the third quarter, but Culp emphasized that both GE and other partners involved in the program must improve to meet Boeing's production goals. The company is focused on ensuring that Boeing can scale up its manufacturing operations smoothly.
