GE Buys CPP Amid Honeywell's Supply Chain Woes
Honeywell Aerospace is considering acquisitions to address supply chain bottlenecks and quality problems. CEO Jim Currier said that buying smaller companies could help the company bring back work it had outsourced in the past.
In a move that supports this strategy, General Electric (GE) has announced plans to buy Consolidated Precision Products (CPP), an engine-parts supplier, for $11.75 billion. This deal is expected to close in the second half of 2027 and will help GE increase parts production and develop new engine technology faster.
Honeywell Aerospace currently buys parts from CPP, but they differ from those being purchased by GE. Currier welcomed the acquisition, calling it 'positive for the industry overall.'
