Clifford Eugene Kent spent over four decades working for two of the world's largest companies, Merck & Co and General Electric. Born on October 11, 1920 in Butler County, Kansas, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.

Kent's professional career took him to various locations across the United States, including New Jersey, Ohio, Washington, New York, and California. He developed numerous patents and published articles on batteries and nuclear power plant design during his time at General Electric.

Affectionately known as Cliff, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Married to Elizabeth 'Betty' Rue for 62 years until her passing in 2004, Kent later married Virginia Canfield in 2006, who passed away in 2012.
