GE Partners with Polish Firm on Apache Engine Servicing Deal
Łódź-based Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze (WZL-1), part of Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), has signed a significant agreement with General Electric (GE) worth over PLN 500 million. This deal covers the servicing of engines for Poland's 96 Apache attack helicopters, which are being purchased by the country.
The total value of Apache-related offsets is estimated to be around PLN 1.2 billion. GE will provide service licenses, know-how, and equipment as part of this agreement.
According to the plan, the production line for servicing these engines should be operational by October 2027, with the first engines serviced in 2028.
The helicopter deliveries are expected to take place between 2028 and 2032. WZL-1 has also signed deals with other major companies, including Lockheed Martin (PLN 300 million), Boeing (PLN 400 million), and Honeywell (PLN 300 million).
