Gehring Tapped by Coca-Cola as North America Head Amid Market Pressure
Coca-Cola has appointed Rob Gehring, former head of Monster Energy's Americas business, to lead its North American operations. Gehring will assume his new position at Coca-Cola on December 1, leaving Monster after a successful stint that saw the company record a 20% increase in net sales in the second quarter.
Gehring's appointment comes as Coca-Cola seeks to sustain growth in its largest market, despite pressure on household spending due to higher prices for essentials such as fuel and groceries. Despite this challenge, Coca-Cola recorded a 7% increase in net sales in the second quarter, with volume increasing by 3% in North America.
Gehring brings extensive experience from his long career in the beverage industry, including a previous stint as CEO of Swire Coca-Cola USA and chief growth officer at Monster. His expertise will be crucial as Coca-Cola continues to develop products aimed at consumers seeking alternatives to traditional soft drinks.
