Gemini App Hits 1 Billion Users, Becomes Google's Fastest-Growing Product

Google's Gemini app has reached a major milestone, surpassing 1 billion monthly active users. This achievement makes it the fastest-growing consumer product in Google's history, according to Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai. The app has become Google's 14th individual product to cross the 1-billion-user mark.

Pichai announced the milestone on social media, thanking Josh Woodward, the vice president who leads Google Labs as well as the Gemini app and AI Studio. Woodward said that the goal remains to make Gemini 'the most personal, proactive, and powerful assistant.'

The statistics reveal that user interactions are shifting away from traditional text prompts towards conversational voice and visual inputs. 63% of active users now interact directly with Gemini via voice commands, with a growing segment relying entirely on hands-free vocal inputs.
