Gemini App Update to Delete Inactive Conversations After 90 Days
Case Western Reserve University's Google Gemini app will receive an update on September 24 to improve data security and user control over conversation history.
The update includes automatic deletion of inactive conversations older than 90 days, aligning with university data governance best practices. Inactive conversations are those where no new messages have been added or edited in the past 90 days.
Users who want to retain their conversations beyond this threshold can export them directly to a Google Doc within their CWRU Google Drive for permanent access and collaborative editing.
The update also introduces manual conversation deletion, allowing users to delete individual threads and prompts from their Gemini conversation history at any time. To do so, users will need to click the 'More options' icon next to the conversation title and select 'Delete.'
