Generac Stock Soars as Amazon Deal Unlocks Up to $8B Potential
Generac Holdings Inc (GNRC) stock surged on Thursday after the company announced a long-term supply agreement with Amazon (AMZN) for backup generators at data centers. The deal could unlock up to $8 billion in potential orders, according to Canaccord, which raised its price target on Generac from $275 to $375 and maintained a Buy rating.
The agreement is expected to bring in initial deliveries worth $2.4 billion across 2027 and 2028, with the potential for much larger orders over time. Cantor Fitzgerald also remained bullish on Generac stock, calling the Amazon deal 'landmark' and saying it directly addresses the 2028 backlog-replenishment debate that had been central to the stock's investment story.
Retail sentiment around GNRC stock improved to 'extremely bullish' from 'bearish' amid high message volume on Stocktwits. The company's existing hyperscaler business is also expected to benefit from the deal, with Amazon adding to Generac's push into large-scale data-center power.
