General Atlantic Rekindles IPO Plans Amid US Market Rebound
Private investment firm General Atlantic is reviving its initial public offering (IPO) plans after a nearly three-year hiatus. The company confidentially filed for an IPO in December 2023, but postponed the deal due to market volatility that made conditions unfavorable for new listings.
Now, as US IPO activity has strengthened and investor appetite for new offerings has improved, General Atlantic is returning to the market. The rebound in the US IPO market was boosted by high-profile public listings such as SpaceX earlier this year, which encouraged more companies across sectors to pursue IPOs.
The firm is tapping JPMorgan Chase to lead the offering alongside Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, according to Reuters. General Atlantic has $130 billion in assets under management and over $121 billion invested since its inception. The global investment firm specializes in providing capital and strategic support to high-growth companies.
